Poison Was The Cure

Posted: September 23, 2012 in Poems
Here, have a taste of your own medicine –
Just a sip of the foulest poison;
It burns away and corrupts the mind,
Eats at your soul from the inside.
It’s slow to act but once it takes ahold
There’s nothing much that can be done.
Please look away as you empty the glass
Don’t look upon what I’ve become;
Remember me then instead.
I was once whole, happy, carefree –
Then the darkness tainted me.
The seed of doubt continued to feed;
Ever faster blossomed the tree
That still continues to drain the life from me.
Maybe again will I be whole; only one way to find out..
Here – drink up, we can’t forever share my soul…
