If Arms Were Branches…

Even if she happened to feel what I feel,
I don’t want her to feel that way; Alone.
Her fears are given thought, and I’m looking back, forever fighting for a hold.
She always tried so hard, but there’s a brighter path; one I hope was rather known.
Our once empty lives are cast aside – for do we really want the pain –
Time after time, another shattered heart as we place our trust again?
Embrace the blindness, seek your shelter here – fear shan’t force hiding from those
Who without a thought for a beating heart, inflict endless raining blows.
Sense the sunlight as you ask yourself “Are we truly all the same?”
